Chinese Medicinal Herb Production in NYS

Some crops take on value to buyers as a group, not singly ─ particularly Chinesemedicinal herbs. The movement toward producing these herbs in the U.S. has slowly gained ground over the past two decades. An effective production and marketing model involves close cooperation betweenlicensed herbal practitioners and farmers. Using a blend of current concepts, cooperatives, food hubs, CSA – the model is being developed here in NY, thanks to funding from the New York Farm Viability Institute.
