Have some family fun down on the farm during the 3rd Annual Schuyler County Farm Tour Weekend. Nine of the finest farms in the Watkins Glen area and throughout Schuyler County are opening to the public, offering tours, tastings, demonstrations, apple picking, farm-market shopping, and farm animal interactions.
Apples and Moore- Saturday and Sunday 9am-6pm- 2790 Apple Lane Watkins Glen NY 14891- Seneca Sunrise will also be vending there. During Farm Tour Weekend we expect to have Crimson Crisp, MacIntosh, Cortland, and other varieties available for picking, as well as raspberries and zinnias. Additionally, visit our farm stand for jams/jellies, apple sauce, locally made products, donuts and seasonally available pears, plums, peaches, and apple cider. Seneca Sunrise Coffee- will have hot coffee, coffee beans. homemade hot chocolate mixes and tumeric latte mix, homemade lemon aid made from Apples and Moore peaches!
Arnot Teaching and Research Forest-Saturday tours at 9:30 and 11:00 only- 611 Country Rd 13 Van Etten NY 14889. During our free 1-hour walking tours, at 9:30am and 11:00am on Saturday, see and learn about Cornell’s world-class maple research program and sample a variety of maple products. Maple syrup will be available for purchase at the end. Tours will start at the “South Gate” Arnot entrance at 611 County Road 13 in Van Etten, the Maple Building is at the end of the road.
Russell's Alpaca Acres- Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm- 4047 Newtown Road, Burdett. We will lead tours throughout the day to give background on the animals, our farm, how we use alpaca products, and more! Our farm store will be open with products made from our alpaca fiber and other alpaca blend items.
Four Seasons Alpacas- Saturday 10am-4pm Sunday 12pm-4pm- Bartlett Family Farm and Sunflower Dairy will also be vending at Four Seasons Alpacas at 4418 Six Corners Road Dundee NY 14837. We will lead tours throughout
the day to give background on the animals, our farm, how we use alpaca
products, and more! Our farm store will be open with products made from our
alpaca fiber and other alpaca blend items. On our farm we will be hosting the
following farms.
Bartlett Farms- will be selling a variety of products made from their maple
syrup.
Sunflower Dairy- selling products made from goat milk, fresh flowers,
produce, essential oils and other items.
Sunset View Creamery-Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm- 4970 County Route 14 Odessa NY 14869. The Hoffman family is proud to welcome you to our farm to not only taste our products, but to get to know the farmer behind your meal and the leading ladies that provide such nourishing milk. Cow cuddling will be offered all day and one learn to milk a cow experience (at 3:45pm). Shtayburne Farm Creamery- Saturday only 10am-8pm- 2909 Chase Road Rock Stream, NY 14878. Visit us during the Farm Tour and indulge in our cheese and ice cream flights, ice cream cones, milkshakes, cold brews, and more. Visitors will be able to see the cows as well.
Muddy Fingers Farm-Saturday 9am-5pm- 3859 Dugue Road Hector NY 14841. Vegetable farm, tours all day and products for sale.
Yesterday's Roots- Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm- 5888 State Rt 14, Rock Stream, NY 14878. On Farm Tour Weekend will be offering a chicken BBQ that includes 1/2 chicken marinated and grilled over a wood fire, locally grown salt potatoes, and cowboy beans for $12.99. This starts at noon both days and usually sells out by 2pm. Guests are welcome to call and reserve theirs. We will also offer a variety of free samples throughout the store.
Wixom Farm- Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm- 4325 NY-228, Alpine, NY 14805
These farm experiences are authentic as well informative, entertaining family fun. The weekend event is organized by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County and Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce. Guests are able to purchase produce and goodies from the farms, including hand-crafted cheeses, apples, veggies, jams, cider, donuts, pies, and alpaca products.
