Curious what all those black panels are on
houses in Schuyler County? Know a little bit about solar panels but want
to find out more? Always wanted to ask someone with solar if it makes a
difference on their energy bill? Well here's your chance!
Solar Schuyler volunteers and solar ambassadors will be hosting a
two-day solar tour with the first day occurring on September 24th from
2:00pm to 5:00pm.
The solar tour is free and open to the public with refreshments provided at each of the three stops! You can find a map (http://goo.gl/eBExzx) on www.solarschuyler.com with a suggested route or type any of the three addresses below into your GPS to receive directions.
On September 24th you will have the opportunity to visit and speak with solar panel owners at three different types of sites!
Seth Mark's barn at 5105 Rt 224 Odessa, NY 14869 is a great first stop
and an opportunity to speak with Seth about his 5.46kW roof-mounted
system installed in 2015. Volunteers will be on hand with a map to get
to the next two stops as well as refreshments.
If you would
like to see a business that has gone solar, stop by Lakeside Veterinary
Services located on 220 S. Catharine St. in Montour Falls 14865. Paul
Bartow, the owner, is a great solar ambassador and can discuss how his
roof-mounted 9.8kW system installed in 2015 has changed his energy bill!
If you're coming from northern Schuyler County - stop by Bob and Bettina King's houses at 3570 Rt 79 Burdett, NY 14818
to see their 10kW Ground-mounted System installed in 2015. There is
also a bonus solar hot water panel you can see that provides the Kings
with water heated by the sun! Bob and Bettina are wonderful supporters
of solar and have graciously offered to answer any questions people may
have on how they went solar.
